Cheerio, Arkansas!

Tonight my family had a going away party/birthday party for my dad and me. My Aunt Lesa and Grandma did such a great job with the planning! My aunt found the BEST decorations to use as seating cards for the table. I've heard of this thing that the Brits love called Spotted Dick- probably not what you are thinking.. It is a bread pudding type dessert! We didn't get the chance to try in because Gram's cobbler was just too delicious and filling (but I have a feeling this isn't the last I'll see of the Spotted Dick)

Tomorrow is the big day- I fly out of XNA at 2:40pm. I am getting SO nervous, but I know it is the opportunity of a lifetime. I will miss everyone back at home, and be looking forward to a welcoming when I finish! I have a feeling this year is going to FLY!

Preparation for Takeoff

I decided to start a blog to keep you all updated on my time in London. I'm getting very anxious about leaving my hometown of Bentonville, AR and venturing out into the great unknown of the UK!
As crazy as it is, I am getting ready to study for my Masters of Art History and visual culture at Richmond University in the heart of London, even though I have never even travelled overseas!  I think the biggest adjustment will be leaving the comfortable environment I grew up in and moving to one of the biggest cities in the world... ALONE. I know that it will be a great adventure, and God will show me so much about Himself, and about me as well.
I've started packing, and some of the essentials people have told me to bring include:
- a rain jacket with a hood
- rain boots
- good winter coat, scarves, gloves, and hats
- lots of skinny pants!
- lots of skirts and tights
- dark colors

If you have any other suggestions as to what I should pack, leave a message at the bottom.

For now, nothing too exciting, just an anxious girl who moves to London for a year in 5 DAYS!!!
